Trip Overview

Our Modern Adventure to Alaska is an unparalleled exploration of coastal southeast Alaska and Glacier Bay National Park, a pantheon of wildlife, scenery and serenity unto itself. The spirit of Alaska is one of true adventure, ready to be explored by kayak, helicopter and foot. Along the way, we’ll learn about indigenous Tlingit culture and feast on amazing local food.

Our adventure begins in the small, remote town of Gustavus, our base for two days of adventuring and exploring the coastline along a craggy tundra of tidewater glaciers to Glacier Bay National Park (limited ships are allowed in per day to preserve the park’s natural beauty). Then we'll shift our base to Point Adolphus on Chichagof Island, to explore Tongass National Forest by kayak and camp. We finish up in Juneau with visits to Gastineau Peak and a helicopter flight up Mendenhall Glacier, where we gear up, crampons and all, for a glacier hike, before reconvening for a farewell dinner on the beach, feasting on fresh grilled paired with the finest local brews.
