Trip Start

Our trip starts in the small town of Gustavus on Sunday, July 10, 2022 in the evening at the Annie Mae Lodge. Please note, it is your responsibility to arrive in Gustavus on time. Alaska Airlines has one commercial flight per day from Juneau (JNU) to Gustavus (GST), Flight AS 71. For this reason, we recommend purchasing airfare as soon as tickets become available.

Arrival Airport

Book your flights to arrive at Gustavus Airport (GST), a quick 10-minute drive from our hotel. Alaska Airlines flight AS 71 is the only commercial flight into GST airport, with once-a-day service that arrives from Juneau's JNU airport around 4:30pm.

Transfer from Airport

A complimentary transfer to Annie Mae Lodge is available for guests arriving on Alaska Flight AS 71. If you plan on arriving in Gustavus early, we are able to help arrange private transfers at an additional cost. Alternatively, Gustavus has two taxi services you can arrange transportation through directly - TLC Taxi and Strawberry Point Taxi & Tours.

Pre-Arrival Accommodations

We stay in unique, in-demand hotels and inns on this trip—rooms go fast and daily rates change frequently. If you plan to arrive in Gustavus prior to the beginning of our journey, we recommend staying at Annie Mae Lodge (see Our Accommodations), which is also our meeting spot on Day One. Please contact the hotel directly to book, and let them know you will be on a trip with Modern Adventure and would like to extend your stay prior to the trip start. We will try to avoid unnecessary room changes, allowing you to stay in the same room from start to finish—however, please note that this is not always an option and room types vary and are subject to change.

If the Annie Mae Lodge is booked, consider staying in Gustavus at the Bear Track Inn.

We end our trip—after seven days of exploration, adventure, and delicious food and drink!—in Juneau on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

Departure Airport

We recommend booking your outbound flights from Juneau International Airport (JNU)—about a 15 minute drive from the hotel.

Transfer to Airport

After breakfast on our last day, Modern Adventure will provide a complimentary group transfer to JNU airport. If you would like to join this transfer, your flight home should depart from JNU at 12:30pm or later.

If your flight leaves at an earlier time, please note that it is your responsibility to arrange alternative transportation from our hotel to the airport.

Post-Trip Accommodations

We hope you have the opportunity to extend your stay in Alaska. If so, we recommend staying in Juneau at the Silverbow Inn (see Our Accommodations section). Please note that any post-trip accommodations are your responsibility to book, and reservations can be made directly by contacting the Silverbow.

If that is booked, Juneau's Four Points Sheraton is a serviceable alternate choice.
